19 years ago.... The shock of Dumbledore's sudden death has worn off by now, Harry Potter is in his 6th year. With McGonagall as Headmistress, everything is looking up for the school. While trouble is just beginning outside her walls, Hogwarts is still the one place that parents can send their kids without worry. Or is it? There is a traitor in the midst of the castle, and there is a great plot brewing, a plot to not only rid the school of Minerva, but to claim it in the name of the Dark Lord. The school remains unknown to this, and continues trying to push ahead, trying to pick up the pieces that Dumbledore left in his wake. Little do they know, those pieces are about to be knocked out of their arms...
17 years ago The plot is set for one Halloween night. Young Ashley Maylacello's been training all this time for the ultimate challenge: Kill McGonagall and claim the school as Dark Headmistress. One fateful Homecoming ball, the plan was set. Before all of the students, and much of the Graduates, Ashley slew the Headmistress, crowning herself as leader of the school. Is there anywhere safe anymore?
1 year ago Sixteen years after Ashley overtook the school, the dust everywhere has settled. Voldemort as overtaken much of the Wizarding world at this point. Lucius Malfoy heads the Ministry, and several other Death Eaters are employed there as well. Ashley, now a Malfoy, remains Headmistress, and Death Eaters have rooted there, as well. Though the Darkness has swept through, it's like the calmness after the storm. People have adapted, and have grown used to the everyday happenings with all political systems being controlled by Lord Voldemort.
The Order, long since forced into hiding, is slowly working its way back, gaining members, gaining strength. They aren't the only ones that Voldemort needs to fear. Even within his own standings, there are traitors afoot, ones with the most potential to bring him down from his pedestal. This is no longer a fight with Death Eaters versus Order. This is all the people who don't like the way his establishment is run, against the very few that remain loyal to him. Where do you stand?
Now The war is over, and the Dark Lord has been defeated. His own flesh and blood, Marvolo Riddle, is regarded as the Wizarding world's greatest hero. Even greater than Harry Potter, who seemingly was absent through the entire war. The Wizarding word is picking up the pieces of itself, and everyone is getting their lives back together. The very few remaining loyal Death Eaters are in hiding, rarely seen. It seems like everything is looking up after all.
Or is it? What happens when Harry Potter realizes he's no longer the Boy who Lived, no longer the household story? And what happens when the new hero and his group, the Omega, turns out to be looking for more than just fame and glory? It's all up to you.

Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.

There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. As humans are planning their own apocalypse, governments playing chess with human pawns and metal knights, raging war on each other's now worthless land they had deigned the animal world some light. Dogs have found their own way, a large band of them ganged up creating a pack and setting up a territory in a forest thrown away by people. No human interference taking place inside its seemingly utopia core. Soon power was craved and one pack was two, then three, and four. Canine war began. The packs continued to split and fight for highland, territory, or just for the fun of bloodshed.
But one group of dogs remembered the peace, and rumors of another place, abandoned by humans long ago as it couldn't supply needs. Strays had over run it years before, and this new pack went to find it.
They did, but they also found Chaos. The pack. The pack Sepia belonged to. She was daughter of the alphas. It was her pack. The dogs that came broke up the pack, creating again a city of stray.
Now, four years later nestled deep in a valley miles from humans common knowledge dogs have made their own homes. But the once peaceful home is full of back stabbers and hunters. Disease is all but too common too. Sepia, aging with the new land, wants revenge and is slowly building followers. Creating alliances. Threatening lives. Threatening home. And she knows that the dogs won't leave theirs. Outside the walls of their set up are things that would love to reap dog's lives more then the ones inside.
